In a few years time, another world wonder would have pushed the Philippines internationally! But the newly discovered World's largest crocodile named Lolong died making the glimmer of national pride bid goodbye as well. Lolong is dead.
Lolong was captured in Bunawan, Agusan in 2011 measuring around 6.2 meters (20 feet and 4 inches) by an Australian zoologist named Adam Britton. Its amazing size earned Lolong an entry to the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest saltwater crocodile in captivity. As of today, the authorities are still trying to determine the cause of death of Lolong.
The death of Lolong can be considered a significant death for Filipinos because his discovery sparked hope that Filipinos still has a national symbol to be proud of and a real crocodile at that! But now, the country or the Filipinos in general are left with more dangerous crocodiles who sits and watches and corrupts.
