Are you Ready for ‘My Little Juan’

0
When Juan Dela Cruz premiered on Philippine television Coco Martin was not to be found. Of course, the story has to start from his birth which came with epic animated history of the 'Bakal na Krus', his parents romance and the back story of the villains. Later on its first week run, Izzy Canillo entered the picture with a fresh, witty and adorable performance as the little Juan.

As a little Juan, he's been doing a lot of unintended mischief around town and the people just fall in love with the little kiddo even to the point of not wanting Coco Martin to enter the picture just yet. But of course, the story has to progress but fortunately, Abs-Cbn is bringing back Izzy Canillo in My Little Juan.

My Little Juan” features the story of Juan’s whole childhood and his exciting adventures with Fr. Cito (Jaime Fabregas) before he became a full-fledged superhero. It is directed by Darnel Villaflor.

Don’t miss the grand premiere of “My Little Juan,” on Monday, 2:45pm, after “It’s Showtime” in ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold.

ABS-CBN launches 2013 Summer Station ID “Kwento ng Summer Natin”

0
Abs-Cbn has once again released a Summer station ID for the year 2013 which carries the theme "Kwento ng Summer Natin" (Story of our Summer) with Sam Milby and Angeline Quinto performing the theme song. The must-watch Summer station ID is tripping down to memory lane by recollecting the biggest shows and pop culture trends over the past 60 years.

The video starts with every pinoy kid's favorite summer activity, flying a kite, and then the kite gets stuck to the roof of an abandoned house where an old television which didn't seem like a TV at first, lies. Then we get sucked in to a world full of Abs-Cbn shows and wow, from ancient tv shows of the 70's and 80's, until my birth decade, the 90's whern shows like Home Along Da Riles, Tabing Ilog and Ang TV matters and a whole lot more!

We also see, Abs-Cbn's most notable icon - the Sarimanok! Woot. It makes me feel like a kid again. They forgot to include morning educational programs like Hirayamanawari, Bayani and Sine Eskwela though.

Check it out and tell us what you have to say at the comments below.

Jane Oineza Nominated at Finalist at 2013 NYF

0
Kapamilya teen actress Jane Oineza received a nod for a best actress nomination in the 2013 New York Festivals after her performance in the drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK). Jane portrayed a young girl named Nene who was raped by her stepdad in front of her mother. Entitled 'Manika', it was by far the most controversial episode from MMK in recent memory. Jane Oineza is vying against USA's Julia Stiles and Troian Bellisario who are both from the web series 'WIGS'.

I wasn't able to see that episode but from the teasers at Youtube, it looked like Jane Oineza's performance was a loud one. Not that it's bad, loud performances can actually be great especially if the story requires so. And after all what Nene's character have gone through in MMK or the real Nene in real life per se, she definitely deserves every right to burst into anger, sadness and a lot other emotions.

If she bags away the best actress I promise to watch the episode myself and give you a review even though it's quite delayed.

Lea Salonga confirmed it herself via Twitter.

Sarah Geronimo Clarifies Differences Between New Project and MMK

0
When Popstar princess Sarah Geronimo's Sunday night variety show Sarah G. Live was cancelled, Abs-Cbn prompted everyone with a list of projects for the singer actress. And one of them is a drama anthology which when we heard, we initially thought, would replace the longest drama anthology MMK. In an interview with Abs-Cbn News, the actress shared.

“Exciting po itong magiging journey ko sa aking bagong proyekto na drama anthology. It’s a challenge for me bilang actress. Sana may mapakita tayo na bago, may ma-showcase tayo na bago sa televiewers natin,” she said.
She was quick to explain though that the stories featured on her drama anthology will be different from those shown on MMK.
“Hindi naman pang ‘MMK.’ Siyempre iiwan po natin iyon sa ‘MMK’ pero importante na may kurot pa rin ang bawat storya na gagawin natin at hindi pa rin mawawala 'yung kung saan ako una nakilala na light and bubbly,” she said.
As of the moment, Sarah is keeping herself busy with projects like the upcoming drama anthology, The Voice and her film It Takes A Man and A Woman, to forgive the person who recently hurt her and for her career growth as well.

Be Careful With My Heart Extended Until December!

0
I know you know for a fact that Be Careful with My Heart is a high rating and high calibre kilig series but if there's anything I'm getting from this news it's the postponement of any future kilig series that's currently in the queue to replace Be careful Wit My Heart and that includes the kilig series of Sarah Geronimo.

But wait, Abs-Cbn have established a good timeslot for another kilig series and that's thourhg Angeline Quinto's Kahit Konting Pagtingin and while that show is also soaring high in ratings, Abs-Cbn may have that idsmissed in favor of Judy Ann and Sam Milby's Against All Odds.

Anyway, let's go back to this very exciting news for Be Careful with My Heart fans out there. Aside from the 6-months extension more characters will also be introduced to the series to stop the budding romance between Sir Chief and Maya.

‘Ina Kapatid Anak’ Hits Kantar Media 40% TV Rating Mark!

0
And here is why you're moved to believe that Maja and Kim, in real life, are really having a fight. They have to put some worms inside your mind that there's something goin on between these two so that you'll watch their fights in Abs-Cbn's primetime family drama Ina Kapatid Anak.

While the show is undoubtedly hooking there are just these tactics that I don't wanna hear of because they're starting to become a cliche to our industry. But what's important to them is that they scored high in national ratings! According to Kantar Media, Ina Kapatid Anak's 'Gabi ng Pagpapakilala' episode which aired last Friday garnered a 40% national TV ratings which is by far its highest.

The controversial episode featured the grand 18th birthday celebration of Celyn (Kim Chiu) and Margaux (Maja Salvador) and it also featured the defeat of two rival teleseryes GMA-7's Indio at 17.4% and Pahiram ng Sandali at 16.1%. In the Gabi Ng Pagpapakilala episode, it was revealed to everyone that Celyn is an official family member of the Marasigan leaving Margaux to blew her cap and confront her sister.

Also, a new character played by Alex Medina is going to enter the story but how strong would his impact be in the story, we have yet to know. Will Ina Kapatid Anak continue to become addicting? Will it continue to score a high rating? Is it gonna be the country's no. 1 drama series after Walang Hanggan? Well, if you want all that to happen then you've gotta watch it at 8:15pm after Juan Dela Cruz only at Abs-Cbn.

Kantar Media: ‘Ina Kapatid Anak’ and ‘Juan dela Cruz’ Rises!

0
The country is hooked to the twin rivalry of Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador in the primetime tv series Ina Kapatid Anak and that goes for Coco Martin's superhero series Juan Dela Cruz. Meanwhile, Sir Chief and Maya's "Be Careful with My Heart" is still the daytime leader.

May we bring you, the top 10 programs (Yes, we want to keep it short) and comparative Philippine TV Ratings from Feb. 13 - 14, 2013 according to Kantar Media:

  1. Abs-Cbn - Juan Dela Cruz - 36.3%
  2. Abs-Cbn - Ina Kapatid Anak - 34.8%
  3. Abs-Cbn - Be Careful with My Heart - 27.2%
  4. Abs-Cbn - TV Patrol - 26.8%
  5. Abs-Cbn - Apoy Sa Dagat - 25.0%
  6. GMA-7 - Temptation of Wife - 18.5%
  7. GMA-7 - Indio - 18.2%
  8. Abs-Cbn - Kahit Konting Pagtingin -17.8%
  9. GMA-7 - Pahiram Ng Sandali - 16.9%
  10. Abs-Cbn - Minute To Win It - 16.7%
Source: Kantar Media

Blogger's Note:

Of the Top 10 programs Abs-Cbn, the Kapamilya network, bested its rival network GMA-7 on the Philippine TV Ratings chart.

And while GMA's top rating primetime series for its time slot 'Temptation of Wife' seems to be as good as the original it didn't win over the new series Apoy Sa Dagat starring Angelica Panganiban and Angelica Panganiban. I guess Apoy Sa Dagat came with a fiery start.

Surprisingly, no noontime show got into the top 10 but we have Abs-Cbn's Minute to Win It at number 10 and of course, Be Careful with My Heart as daytime programs.

I'm sure Kapuso are going to visit just to drop by comments saying Kapamilya sucks but this list clearly shows otherwise. :-)

Miles Ocampo Reveals LUV U Co-Star Marco Gumabao is Ideal Boyfriend

0
Miles is one of those child actress that really amazed me. I was impressed by the character she played in the afternoon series of Abs-Cbn called "Mangarap Ka". On that show she portrayed a role of a boy who eventually was revealed later to be a girl. It just caught me off guard because she looked like a boy on the first few episodes of the show starring Angelica Panganiban and Piolo Pascual. But anyway, years later the child star I knew has become one of those teens stars whose career in show business is currently on its peak.

Now known for the hit teen sitcom Luv U, Miles Ocampo has blossomed into one of those few teen stars who still got a knack for comedy. Actresses like Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are now being typecast as drama actresses. But anyway, I think Miles is going to have more projects with the bubbly persona she wears.

Now let's go a bit personal about Miles Ocampo. At 15, the Luv U star shares that she hasn't experienced having a boyfriend yet but she imagines that her ideal guy would most likely have the qualities of Marco Gumabao. She claried though that she is not looking for a special someone right now and explained that she cannot juggle love life and career at the same time. Even if Marco and Miles won't end up as couples in real life, what's important is that their characters JB and Camille will end up on the story of Luv U. This Sunday our LUV U barkada will talk about their upcoming graduation and college plans. Is this the end of Luv U Barkada? LUV U starts right after ASAP 18 at Abs-Cbn.

0
Alright it is the month of love so maybe it wouldn't hurt if we post something about celebrities fallin in love or considering to fall in love again. So here it is! Actress Lorna Tolentino, said in an interview that she is not ready to fall in love again, nor does she see herself falling in love again after the demise of her husband, the late actor Rudy Fernandez in 2008.

She further blurted the metaphorical statement “Bakit pa ako kukuha ng batong ipupukpok ko sa ulo ko?,” which if you don't get refers 'falling in love again' as headache. Ms. LT is currently busy taping with her primetime soap "Pahiram Ng Sandali" which also stars Dingdong Dantes, Christopher de Leon and Max Collins. When asked about if she draw personal experience to aid her acting.

“Actually hindi ko na hinuhugot sa sarili kong experience yung pag-arte ko e, dun ko nalang talaga hinuhugot sa istorya.  I remember one time nga my son asked me, ‘Ma, do you still get stimulus for your acting from your personal experiences?’ Sabi ko, ‘Not anymore, e’ (laughs).

Unless nalang kung yung katulad ng ibang eksena kung saan bigla ka nalang iiyak nang wala namang pinanggagalingan sa istorya, dun na ako humuhugot sa sarili kong experience,” shared Lorna. She also added that she didn't have to give any pointers to her younger co stars since they are considered professional artists.

While the Korean entertainment industry is still making a lot of moolahs from cutesy groups there's no doubt that they have high quality movie productions and tv shows as well.
