Kris Aquino Resigns and Cries Over James Yap!

0
Kris Aquino  is definitely the queen of all media after her sudden appearance together with her sisterakas in a shocking live interview on National TV, whichever network you prefer, Thursday night, March 21, 2012. Trying to get everyone's attention she cried on national television about leaving showbizness to focus on being a full-time Mommy to her 'Baby James' who is at the center of the highly controversial Kris Aquino and James Yap feud.

According to the TV host, she did not inform any of her siblings, her lawyer or the management of ABS-CBN about her decision to quit showbiz. And yet her siblings were right there by her side for moral support and were mildly shocked together with the rest of the televiewers while Kris does the best acting performance she's ever done in her career. Not to say that this whole thing is scripted but the performance was so raw that I almost fell for it. Kudos! Also, Abs-Cbn agreed to be shocked for they might get a very high rating for this live telecast.

In her interview Kris Aquino said she will resign and drop her current tv shows, the daytime lifestyle show "Kris TV", the primetime series "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" and the weekend talent show "Pilipinas Got Talent".

“I’m giving up my shows. Hindi ko sinasabi ‘yan just so that I can say na I’m the one making the bigger sacrifice. Tinatalikuran ko ang mundo na kinilala ko na bumuhay sa akin dahil higit doon sa karera ko, mas mahal ko ang anak ko,” she said.

She also mentioned something about woman empowerment, her knowledge about laws concerning women and how can she not mention her Mom and all of which indicates nothing but a latent political agenda.

The interview was also triggered by the current controversy with her former husband James Yap. This started when Kris Aquino filed a 30-day temporary protection order against James Yap for alleged "overt sexual advances" and "mean and malicious statements" during one of Yap's visit to their 5 year old son "Bimby" last year. So she was seduced and didn't like it? The interview went on in circles about how she feels and according to her "she felt violated as a woman."

On Using Malacanang

Kris Aquino denied the allegation that she used her brother's position of power in threatening her former husband James Yap. While we haven't heard anything from PNoy yet, Bam Aquino, who is a senatorial candidate for the upcoming May Elections assured Kris Aquino won't use Malacanang against James Yap.

Please, help yourself by watching the full video of last night's interview of Kris Aquino with TV Patrol. Please be aware that you'll be wasting 27:54 minutes of your life.

Rant

They don't want to add up to Pnoy's load of unresolved national issue yet they appeared on national television. Why is that?

So who is it? Are you team Kris or James? I pick Bimby. He doesn't deserve this!

Random Thoughts

She's going to have a lifetime achievement award for "no acting, acting" since this performance is said to be not "scripted". Her raw performance on national television, is the best she's ever done in her career. Who would have thought she had that in her?

Conclave will start after 15 days! After that a white smoke will appear on Malacanang and a new commandment will suddenly be known to humankind that states "Thou Shall Not Seduce Your Former Wife".

In the future, Kris will have a biopic and it will have a 27:54 minutes climax.

The announcement became a shock to everyone however most  etizens consider this event not surprising at all. Known for being an open book, there is no stopping Kris Aquino to spill every details of her life but apparently with this hopefully it will the last.

Cardinals Select Bergoglio of Argentina as New Pope

0
Catholics are in cloud nine for a white smoke puffed from the chimney of Sistine Chapel which indicates nothing but the election of the new pope. An hour later, the new pope who is the 266th in Catholic Church pontiff history was revealed to be Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina.

He is the first South American to ever lead the church and also the first non-European pope in a thousand years. The new pope will be called ' Francis I ' and is expected to bring a powerful future for the church. When Francis I spoke to the people from the balcony on St. Peter's Basilica his first few words as the new pontiff were "I would like to thank you for your embrace,". “My brother cardinals have chosen one who is from far away, but here I am.

The day ended with the pope saying goodnight and have a good rest in Italian making people cheer and wave their flags and umbrellas. This is such a relief to the people who waited long and got even soaked in the rain as they waited for a puff of white smoke from the chimney. And to the rest of the world who was waiting for the predecessor of Benedict XVI to be announced. There are a lot of hopefuls for Tagle to be the new pope just because he's the youngest among the bunch but Bergoglio who is from South American is believed by many to be the future of the Church.

Along with the responsibilities of the new pope, Francis I will inherit certain issues against the Church about sexual abuse. As much as we don't want to sound racist, the reason why the new pope was from the South is that most of these issues came from the Northern Hemisphere. It has been a month since Pope Benedict the XVI resigned and we now have a new pope who will hopefull end issues, change the image of the Catholic church and lift people's hearts through the message of God. Chos!

Who is the New Pope?

0
A black smoke rose yesterday from the chimney as though St. Nick had landed on Christmas eve but the real deal is that we don't have a new pontiff just yet. The black smoke was an indication that no decision has been made after the first conclave of the Cardinals at Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.

Pope Benedict's abdication last month has really got the world shocked and now in the watch out for the new pope. So who is the next pope? Well, if it's not one of the 155 Cardinal electors who seemed to have voted for themselves on the first day I don't know who. However, the next pope can possibly be anyone from the frequently mentioned papabile in Rome.

I'm sure news reports from local reporters are quite biased for their home country and that's why I cannot really say our very own Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle is going to be the next pope. But if the vote were to be done on the internet, he'll most likely win.

But that's never gonna happen because the ways of electing a new pope is said to be so sacred they want everyone to look at the roof if there's smoke. So here are the other papabiles to consider including the much talked about 'youngest' cardinal - Tagle.
  1. Joao Braz de Aviz (Brazil, 65)
  2. Timothy Dolan (USA, 63)
  3. Peter Erdo (Hungary, 60)
  4. Sean O'Malley (USA, 68)
  5. Marc Ouellet (Canada, 68)
  6. Gianfranco Ravasi (Italy, 70)
  7. Leonardo Sandri (Argentina, 69)
  8. Odilo Scherer (Brazil, 63)
  9. Christoph Schoenborn (Austria, 68)
  10. Angelo Scola (Italy, 71)
  11. Luis Tagle (Philippines, 55)
  12. Peter Turkson (Ghana, 64)
I personally think there is really no need to get into the details of all of the twelve. This is just like all the recent entertainment event. It's like the Oscars for catholics and the best actor would be the next pope. You know how Philippines' just suck at Oscar but given Tagle's age is his most valuable possession as it tells the other pope, I'm not going to resign like Benedict. Next to his age is Peter Erdo from Hungary, sounds like he's hungry to be the next pope.

Timothy Dolan of USA seems like a predictable bet. You know, so Hollywood! And he is reportedly the backslapping kind of a Cardinal. Sean O'Malley well no comment. Peter Turkson is among the black horses on this Pope thing though coz he's from Africa. Angelo Scola is also predictable because they would save flight ticket if he ever becomes the pope because he lives in Italy.

Sorry for all the puns, you can take me to the pun-itentiary now. To end this, I think the next pope is going to deserve his papacy because he is 70% going to be white. Get Tagle to Belo now!

Abs-Cbn Vs Gma-7 Libel Case

0
Press Release - ABS-CBN Corporation reiterated its stand that the nine-year old libel case filed by GMA Network against it has no basis.
ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio ‘Gabby’ Lopez III and other current and former employees of the network posted bail in connection with the case after, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court issued arrest warrants for them last week.

The arrest warrants were issued against Lopez, Erwin Tulfo, Lynda Jumilla, Beth Frondoso, Maria Progena Estonilo Reyes, Annie Eugenio, Dondi Garcia, Luis Alejandro, Jose Ramon Olives, Jesus Maderazo, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Jose Magsaysay Jr., and Alfonso Marquez.
In a press statement, head of ABS-CBN Integrated Corporate Communications Bong Osorio said the accused “will avail themselves of all legal remedies to question the findings of probable cause for the arrest warrants.”

“It is unfortunate that the respondents are being pilloried as criminals, when in fact, it was ABS-CBN whose rights were violated. They are confident that this libel suit will eventually be dismissed,” Osorio said.
ABS-CBN had accused GMA of using without permission ABS-CBN’s broadcast coverage of overseas Filipino worker Angelo dela Cruz’ arrival in the Philippines after he was released by Iraqi militants in 2004.
GMA picked up and aired the footage from foreign news agency Reuters Television Service despite an advisory sent by Reuters stating “No Access Philippines” or that the material could not be used by its subscribers in the Philippines without consent. The “no access” rule is also contained in the standard Reuters agreement with its subscribers in relation to video material sourced from other subscribers in a particular territory.

Osorio pointed out that GMA used the ABS-CBN coverage “without its authority and consent and thus was charged by ABS-CBN with copyright infringement.”
GMA’s libel complaint against ABS-CBN was dismissed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) private prosecutor ACP Venturaza in 2004, and which dismissal was affirmed by former Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez in 2005.

However, in 2010, former acting Justice Secretary Alberto Agra reversed Gonzalez’ resolution. And in 2011, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima affirmed Agra’s resolution.
ABS-CBN has a pending petition with the Court of Apppeals questioning the DOJ’s resolution finding probable cause for libel against them.

Komodo dragon Attacks 25-year-old Tour Guide

0
Just today I feel I should blog more scoops about real news and current events. Yeah, like skip make a tv format so that I could finally put a link on those categories up there. But wait, not just that I wanna aim high so today I'm gonna start adding world news okay?

So for today let's go to Indonesia!

When a friend went to Malaysia he spotted these Komodo dragons wandering around a beach. And I almost shriek saying it must have been a bad experience. But he said no. He said it was kinda cool until now that in Jakarta, Indonesia. Well, I may be talking about Komodo dragons in a different country but they are neighbors. Now back to the report. Just recently a tour guide in an Indonesian National Park got mauled by a Komodo Dragon that is over two meters long.

Reports say that he the  tour guide was trekking with four indonesian visitors to Rinca Island - one of the two Komodo-inhabited - or infested? - islands which is frequently visited by - courageous - tourists. At 25, the tour guide is named Abdurahman was immediately taken to the hospital where his wounds on his right calf is being stitched.

They say that when you get bitten by a Komodo dragon, the bite would have a toxic bacteria from their saliva that will weaken or kill you. But a recent research states that the dragons' jaw have highly sophisticated poison glands that can cause paralysis, spasms and shock through hemorrhaging. Komodos are known to be the world's largest monitor lizards and hunt their prey through a "bite and wait" strategy. So if you don't want to end up like Abdurahman and the two park employees who were also attacked earlier this month then don't ever get close to one nor their territory.

Philippine Eagle PAGASA Sires an Eaglet!

0
Oh Philippine Wildlife! The Philippine Eagle Center is only a few hours away from me as I live in Davao and to hear about this news that Pagasa, the first Philippine eagle bred in captivity, sires his first offspring makes me want to go there and get amazed by a miracle.

When we went to Philippine Eagle last year, I have learned that Philippine eagles are monogamous and they bond for life. And to hear that Pagasa (Hope) and his pair Kalinawan (Peace) has just got their first born makes me feel so happy for them (and for us Filipino) considering they are among the world's most critically endangered species and a national wildlife treasure.

According to Dennis Salvador, the executive director of Philippine Eagle Foundation, the hatching of the bird was one of the most dramatic wait they've ever had.

"This is a triumph for the Philippine Eagle, but there is still a long way to go to for these majestic creatures to grow in number in the wild," Salvador said.

However, more than that, is the more dramatic and very long wait for Pagasa to conceive a child which by the way for around 21 years. The new eaglet is only the 25th hatchling bred in captivity at the center, which has a total of 37 of the Philippine Eagles.

Salvador further shares that it took about 48 hours for the chick to emerge from the shell.

"This underscores the fact that breeding these birds in captivity remains difficult," he said. "We are certainly a long way off in coping with losses in the wild.

While alongside this awesome news is a fact that our forest is decreasing and it will take not only time but great efforts from the Government and every Filipino in conserving and protecting the forest and eventually save these treasured creatures.

The world is probably in great awe while Russians panic as the skies of Russia's Urals region gets blinded by the flashes of light as it sends off a shockwave that shattered windows, together with some chunks of fiery meteorite stones that hurt thousands of people. Experts insisted though that this meteor is not linked to the asteroid 2012 DA14 which passed 17,200 miles above earth earlier today. Well, at least here in the Philippines. But anyway, let's go back to Russia.

The Russian meteor which is by the way currently topping twitter's trending topic brought not only traffic but for a brief moment paranoia to people who though the world was going to an end. Authorities says that over 300 buildings were damaged including schools, hospitals and factories causing injuries to 950 people according to RIA Novosti news agency. The meteor explosion is said to be the most stunning cosmic events above Russia since the 1908 Tunguska Event.

If you just woke up with this news about Meteorite explosions here's a stunning video featuring six different dramatic records of the Russian Meteorite crash!

What do you think? What can you say? Is the world going to end soon? Are we prepared for a more tragic, sudden and unexpected cosmic event such as this?

0
Actor Steve Martin known for his films The Pink Panther and Cheaper by the Dozen revealed that he's a first-time dad at the age of 67 and that, of course his wife Anne Stringfield gave birth last December at the age of 41. And for months now, they've been keeping the good news to themselves. But we understand right? This is the first time that he's going to be a Dad or that the couple will be parents. And after 3 years of conceiving or trying to, here it is!

Steve Martin is a dad at last!
