A Moment In Time Flops in Box Office, Expectations and Standard

Get real people who loves Star Cinema, Coco Martin and Julia Montes. It was never really about your fandom or whatever you call it. The problem is the movie and the thing is A Moment In Time flopped in both expectations and box office! If you recall most Star Cinema opening salvo rake hundred millions in the box office and double the ticket sales if it were a Valentines movie and A Moment In Time is both but it grossed only P63.43 million. Why?

Disappointed Coco is Disappointed.

The reason why is probably the CocoJul loveteam has lost their momentum caused by the gap of Walang Hanggan's finale and the release of their movie. Bad reviews of the "so-so" movie did not help as well. And that's exactly why Star Cinema is hell bent to promoting or rather milking the Kathniel love team for their first feature film 'Must Be Love'.

And then, after that, if Must Be Love flops! They still have the Laida Magtalas and John Lloyd Cruz movie end of this month. I know you'd argue P60-m is still a decent box office gross but get real people, with Star Cinema and some people out there who buzzes whenever the film outfit reaches a certain hundred million - this gross of A Moment In Time - even if it reaches P70-M or P80-M by its 4th week has already flopped based on the standard set by Star Cinema.

If only Star Cinema would let go of the formula. That's not gonna happen though. OTJ's case is rare though! That's where Star Cinema would redeem itself. Hahaha

Lorna Tolentino on Falling in Love Again!

Alright it is the month of love so maybe it wouldn't hurt if we post something about celebrities fallin in love or considering to fall in love again. So here it is! Actress Lorna Tolentino, said in an interview that she is not ready to fall in love again, nor does she see herself falling in love again after the demise of her husband, the late actor Rudy Fernandez in 2008.

She further blurted the metaphorical statement “Bakit pa ako kukuha ng batong ipupukpok ko sa ulo ko?,” which if you don't get refers 'falling in love again' as headache. Ms. LT is currently busy taping with her primetime soap "Pahiram Ng Sandali" which also stars Dingdong Dantes, Christopher de Leon and Max Collins. When asked about if she draw personal experience to aid her acting.

 “Actually hindi ko na hinuhugot sa sarili kong experience yung pag-arte ko e, dun ko nalang talaga hinuhugot sa istorya.  I remember one time nga my son asked me, ‘Ma, do you still get stimulus for your acting from your personal experiences?’ Sabi ko, ‘Not anymore, e’ (laughs).

Unless nalang kung yung katulad ng ibang eksena kung saan bigla ka nalang iiyak nang wala namang pinanggagalingan sa istorya, dun na ako humuhugot sa sarili kong experience,” shared Lorna. She also added that she didn't have to give any pointers to her younger co stars since they are considered professional artists.

Dingdong Dantes and Alden Richards Movie in the Works!

Perhaps the most visible of all Kapuso actors, Dingdong Dantes and Alden Richards will have their own movie! GMA Films has reportedly decided to turn the shelved 2011 TV series "Cain at Abel" into a small budget commercial feature, well an indie film or may be we can categorize it as maindie since GMA Films doesn't have any indie arm like Skylight of Star Cinema.

But anyway, Cain and Abel was supposed to star Dingdong Dantes and Aljur in a TV series but was cancelled. It is a modern retellling of the story on the Bible about the first two sons of Adam and Eve.

The concept is actually intriguing, however, we all know what's going to happen here right? The question now is who's gonna play who? Who will be The Good One? Who will play The Wicked One? Those words are good for a sub-title. Cain and Abel - The Good and Wicked! Chos.

Dingdong Dantes to Transfer to Abs-Cbn?

With Dingdon Dantes' undeniable visibility in the Kapamilya network after venturing into films since 2011 with Segunda Mano, followed by One More Try, and more upcoming join ventures. Speculations have been going around about Dingdong Dantes in negotiation to transfer to Abs-Cbn after his contract expires with GMA-7.

However, when Dingdong was cornered in an interview for his primetime series Pahiram Ng Sandali, the kapuso actor was quick to deny such rumors. Meanwhile, the actor is currently busy with his primetime project Pahiram Ng Sandali which stars Lorna Tolentino, Christopher De Leon, Max Collins and Dingdong Dantes.

Dingdong Dantes Feels Nostalgic About Second Star Cinema Movie

Award-winning actor and "One More Try" lead star Dingdong Dantes did not expect but was truly delighted when he received a second movie offer from Star Cinema, especially that it is another entry to the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

"Fresh from 'Segunda Mano' sinabihan na agad ako na I'm gonna do another project with Star Cinema. Hindi ko naman ini-expect it's for MMFF again kaya parang nostalgic 'yung experience," narrated Dingdong. "

 

Star Cinema gave me a very good experience sa first project ko with them kaya nung nalaman ko na may isa pa, syempre natuwa ako and I was looking forward sa new memories na mabi-build ko doing 'One More Try' na true enough naman ay isa namang pelikulang talagang hinding-hindi ko malilimutan."

Under the direction of award-winning director Ruel S. Bayani, "One More Try" features a modern family drama about a mother's immeasurable love to her son who is dying. In the story, Dingdong will play the character of Edward, a dedicated husband to Jacq (Angelica Panganiban), whose courage and character will be tested when her old friend Grace (Angel Locsin) re-enters his life with their son who is desperately in need of his father's help.

According to Dingdong, aside from the unique beauty of the plot of "One More Try," he immediately accepted offer because of the top caliber actors who are part of it, including former Kapuso star Angel.

"First time ko nakasama si Angel. Kasi kahit na noong nasa GMA pa siya, hindi kami nagkaron ng pagkakataon na magkatrabaho. And although si Angelica nakasama ko na sa 'Segunda Mano' at si Zanjoe (Marudo) sa 'Kimmy Dora,' first time namin magsama-samang apat sa iisang pelikula," said Dingdong who revealed that he learned so much while doing the film. 

 

"Everyday I learn so many things from different people--kung papano sila sa set, kung gaano ka sila kaprofessional towards their work, how much they love their work, and how to make an awesome product while you’re having fun."

Dingdong is also proud of the extraordinary and courageous plot of "One More Try." He said, "Kung gaano siya kabilis mag-evolve as a story, ganoon din siguro kabilis ang magiging impact niya sa audience. Dahil sa pagkakaron ng isang bata eventually it turned out to be more of a family drama film than an adult type of movie na alam naman natin na karamihan nang pinalabas this year ay may ganoong tema."

"Natutunan ko na minsan kasi may mga choices ka na gagawin na maaaring hindi tama sa nakararami pero para sa 'yo morally and spiritually ay para sa ikabubuti ng taong mahal mo," said the actor. "In the film, they will realize na beyond the conflicts of relationships, ultimately ay uuwi ka pa rin sa family mo which is perfect para sa isang film festival dahil panahon ang Pasko kung kelan nagsasama-sama ang mga pamilya."

Aside from the first team-up of Angel, Angelica, Zanjoe and Dingdong, also featured in “One More Try” are Carmina Villaroel, Agot Isidro, Edward Mendez, and Ms. Gina Pareño.

Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban Movie in the Works!

It looks like Star Cinema is planning to make yet another Box Office movie by billing Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban in a project with the Kapuso actor, Dingdong Dantes as the leading man. And the film is said to be entitled or "In Love We Trust".

While it hasn't been officially announced, and as of now this movie project is still a rumor, we might just ready ourselves for another quality romance film from Star Cinema. With two Angels and a doorbell-sounding actor, who knows? This might just become another high grossing movie in the Philippines. :D

Its target playdate is November 14, 2012!
