Are you Ready for ‘My Little Juan’

When Juan Dela Cruz premiered on Philippine television Coco Martin was not to be found. Of course, the story has to start from his birth which came with epic animated history of the 'Bakal na Krus', his parents romance and the back story of the villains. Later on its first week run, Izzy Canillo entered the picture with a fresh, witty and adorable performance as the little Juan.

As a little Juan, he's been doing a lot of unintended mischief around town and the people just fall in love with the little kiddo even to the point of not wanting Coco Martin to enter the picture just yet. But of course, the story has to progress but fortunately, Abs-Cbn is bringing back Izzy Canillo in My Little Juan.

“My Little Juan” features the story of Juan’s whole childhood and his exciting adventures with Fr. Cito (Jaime Fabregas) before he became a full-fledged superhero. It is directed by Darnel Villaflor.

Andi Eigenmann Playing Galema Anak Ni Zuma

Actress Andi Eigenmann whose breakthrough in showbiz was because of Agua Bendita will take the role of another FREAK! This time around Andi will play Galema, the daughter of Zuma who was famous for having a two-headed snake on his shoulders. Snooky Serna was the most notable actress who portrayed Galema in the 1885 film 'Zuma'.

 This was confirmed by her mother Jaclyn Jose during the 29th PMPC Star AWards for Movies where she said "Okay siya may movie siya sa Viva at magi-start siya ng 'Galema' by April. Ang movie niya with Viva ay iba at 'yung 'Galema' soap kay Wenn (Deramas),".

Jaclyn Jose also crossed paths with her daughter's ex-boyfriend Albie Casino that she almost turned into the wife of Zuma! Galema Ang Anak Ni Zuma is directed by Wenn Deramas.

MMK Episode Bahay Wins Valentines Day TV Ratings

Abs-Cbn usually taps big name actors to pull high tv ratings for their MMK Valentines special but this time around we have Ketchup Eusebio and Meg Imperial who are on their way for more projects after hitting a 37% national TV ratings via Kantar Media. The episode entitled 'Bahay' scored 21.1 points higher than its rival program Magpakailanman.

Aside from the national tv rating triumph the said episode also won the hearts of viewers because of the heartwarming story between a not-so good looking guy and a beautiful provincial lass. Meanwhile this Saturday again, MMK gives another heavy family drama which is topbilled by Boots Anson-Roa.

Juan Dela Cruz Hits Highest TV Rating at 40.5%

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Juan Dela Cruz is a great series. For me, it had an unsteady but good enough start to wow everyone. And that alone, may be enough to get hooked with this TV series. It's been two weeks after its premiere and I must say things haven't changed. The production is still of high quality and the story just keeps on getting better. No doubt it has conquered in Philippine TV Ratings! 

Based on the latest data from Kantar Media last Tuesday, Juan Dela Curz was the no. 1 overall Philippine TV program with a 40.5% national tv ratings. It is almost 23 points higher than its rival program by GMA-7, 'Indio' which only got 17.6%.

Abs-Cbn's gag show "Banana Split" will take the new name of "Banana Nite" which airs every day after "Bandila" starting Monday, Feb.25, 2013. Your weekend banana pips are going to serve their infamous banana split jokes on a daily basis and you're gonna love it after a long day at work.

Featured as the ‘daily serving’ of weekly gag show “Banana Split”, the new show aims to lighten the mood of weary viewers after a long day’s work. The tagline shouts “Tara na at makibaka, makitawa. Tama na, tawa na!”

“It’s exciting how we’re going from weekly to nightly,” said Angelica Panganiban, one of the main casts of the show. “We’re inviting viewers to watch out for Banana Nite. We have a lot of treats in store, from new segments to new cast members,” she added.

New segments featuring Bhoy and Krissy are also expected to burst your laugh bubbles in 'Ihaw Na' and 'Krissy and Me'. Guest artists like Bea Alonzo, Iza Calzado and Joey Marquez will add up to the craziness of Banana Nite. Sarah Geronimo Clarifies Differences Between New Project and MMK

When Popstar princess Sarah Geronimo's Sunday night variety show Sarah G. Live was cancelled, Abs-Cbn prompted everyone with a list of projects for the singer actress. And one of them is a drama anthology which when we heard, we initially thought, would replace the longest drama anthology MMK. In an interview with Abs-Cbn News, the actress shared.

“Exciting po itong magiging journey ko sa aking bagong proyekto na drama anthology. It’s a challenge for me bilang actress. Sana may mapakita tayo na bago, may ma-showcase tayo na bago sa televiewers natin,” she said.

 She was quick to explain though that the stories featured on her drama anthology will be different from those shown on MMK.

“Hindi naman pang ‘MMK.’ Siyempre iiwan po natin iyon sa ‘MMK’ pero importante na may kurot pa rin ang bawat storya na gagawin natin at hindi pa rin mawawala 'yung kung saan ako una nakilala na light and bubbly,” she said.

As of the moment, Sarah is keeping herself busy with projects like the upcoming drama anthology, The Voice and her film It Takes A Man and A Woman, to forgive the person who recently hurt her and for her career growth as well.

Goin Bulilit Audition Draws Thousands of Bulilits

Thousands of kids showed to the biggest break they'll ever get in the local limelight as tiny jokers in Abs-Cbn's kiddie gag show 'Goin Bulilit'. Held recenty at the Abs-Cbn compounds, the audition featured kids dancing Gangnam Style, singing of Sarah Geronimo's songs, acting out loud as characters in teleseryes, and of course, cracking some jokes and pick-up lines.

 On Sunday's episode, Goin Bulilit alumnus Nash Aguas will show the behind the scenes of the whole audition process which will highlight kids saying the darndest of things. According to Goin Bulilit executive producer, Nomie Merana, a callback for the shortlisted kids will be staged after this first screening.

Then, the lucky brand new bulilitys will immediately casted on the show and replace the kids who are graduating this month. Meanwhile, this Sunday Goin Bulilit will intereview Dr. Eric Tayag the Assistant Secretary of Department of Health for a funny segment Cute and A. Come join and fun in this Sunday's Goin Bulilit! Bamboo Will Rock The Voice Philippines

Bamboo's stint in last year's The X Factor Philippines and frequent ASAP Performances is clearly headed towards something big. Bamboo Mañalac, former Rivermaya lead vocalist joins Abs-Cbn's upcoming reality singing competition The Voice Philippines as the second judge or coach revealed after Sarah Geronimo.

If Sarah will use a new monicker "The Voice of Pop" in The Voice Philippines, Bamboo will use "The Voice of Rock". Also included in the new talent show are Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo as the host!s Two more coaches are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

I'm sure everyone are excited to watch our very own version of The Voice! After The Prince of Rock, Bambook, who else do you think will sit as coach or judge in Abs-Cbn's newest reality singing show?

Names of Pops Fernandez, Aiza Seguerra and Freddie Aguilar comes in mind. Hmmm...

Zaijan Jaranilla is Wansapanataym's Teacher Pest

Here goes another episode of Abs-Cbn's top-rating fantasy drama anthology Wansapanataym which will feature Wesley (Zaijan Jaranilla), a young school boy, who is fond of pulling pranks in school.  Yen Santos will take the role of Wesley's teacher together with Manuel Chua, Cherry Lou, Daria Ramirez, Ruby Rubi, Boom Labrusca, Lui Villaruz, Carlos Cruz and Nathaniel Brit. Together they will teach the teacher's pest a very important lesson! This episode is directed by Tots Sanchez-Mariscal and penned by Cris Lim.

The title is actually a play in words for the usual 'Teacher's Pet' but in the next episode of Wansapanatym to debut this Saturday, Feb.  16, 2013, we'll have a problem child who does crazy pranks to his teacher for revenge.

Kidlat Villains Assembled!

What's not to look forward to TV5's Kidlat when our superhero has yet to encounter a lot of villains. Joining Vincent (Baron Geisler) in the evil side, Kidlat (Derek Ramsay) faces new super villains portrayed by Shaira Mae and Mark Neumann, Paolo Ballesteros and Valerie Weigmann.

 He first finds orphaned twins Francine and Francis who possess the power to produce fire and ice and becoming Frosta and Fuego. Also, Paolo Ballesteros takes on another feminine role as Warla!

A sort of drag queen darna with superhuman strength and impressive combat skills. Lastly, Valerie Weigmann takes on the role of Natasha Thorpe with a telekinetic power, knowledge of witchcraft and seduction.

Aside from these villains, Kidlat will still also have to fight Vincent’s lackey, Graba Man (Wendell Ramos). Fans of the show should also stay tune as Vincent develops a new weapon that promises to destroy Kidlat.

Abs-Cbn Apoy Sa Dagat Fires Up on Monday

 When Alta's teaser was released it blew away people for its bold and highly fashionable content and when Abs-Cbn revealed that it's a cancelled project people were most disappointed to the replacement - Apoy Sa Dagat.

It just didn't sound appealing at all. Fire in the Sea? That's just absurd right? But anyway, when the teaser of Apoy Sa Dagat sailed across the blogosphere people have awakened from their slumber. People's reaction was! What? Angelica Panganiban and Angelican Panganiban!?

Then came the scenes showing conflicts between four powerful characters namely namely Serena (Angelica Panganiban), Ruben (Piolo Pascual), Anton (Diether Ocampo), and Rebecca (Angelica Panganiban).

Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador Feud For Real?

Known to be best of friends since Kim Chiu got brokenhearted because of Gerald Anderson, Kim and Maja Salvador got involved in a bitter exchange of words and sour-tasting friendship. And while they have remained silent since then while professionally working for their Top rating series Ina Kapatid Anak. The tension between the two found its way through rumors and speculations online.

After making The Buzz soar high in ratings because of their controversy. We're up to another issue that will probably hit The Buzz again this Sunday! The new issue says that a real-life catfight happened on the set of Ina Kapatid Anak.

If you're an avid watcher of the new series, you'll know that there's also tension between the characters of Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador, Celine and Margeux respectively.

 And to hear of a news that falsify the news that they both have moved on from last week's issue brings a new chapter to the Celyn x Margeux fight.

A new layer! A much more personal. 

While taping for a big scene that involved a confrontation that turned physical between Celyn Buenaventura and Margaux Marasigan (characters played by Kim and Maja in the series) on Wednesday, February 6, the two young actresses end up bruised and scratched. Onlookers said Maja tried to approached Kim and said "Okay ka lang ba?" but Kim immediately ran out of the place crying. Minutes later, Kim was seen leaving the shoot that made the production team decide to pack-up shooting on that day.Walk-out?

Although they remain hidden from the eyes of people and the thinking of fans I know there are people who are taking advantage of the whole Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador feud. For all we know, this never would have happened or this whole issue was just made up to spark interest, create showbiz controversy that's going to increase ratings and all. This is showbizness my golly!

But if this happens to be real. Will this fight lead to either one of them to get kicked out of the show? Well, I hope not. What do you think?

Juan Dela Cruz First Week Run Gets You Hooked!

There's some dark irresistible magic the makers of Juan Dela Cruz has poured into the new tv series. A magic that made the Half-Tagabantay and Half-Aswang superhero concept work! There's charm in the first week episode of which will start a new chapter tonight.

In the first week run, we meet lovable characters such as the young Juan played by the witty and smart Izzy Canillo.We also meet the loving Father Cito, the viscous clan of Aswangs, Rosario and the comical Ms. Gina Pareno as Lola Belen.

The story is kinda gearing towards some good action, romance and drama! The animation at the beginning gives a good first impression and every scene treated cinematically. It's also shot in HD! Which makes the effect kinda looked bad though but passable because this is a TV series.

All in all, I think we're up to a good start for this series. And I'm afraid I'm hooked!

Goin Bulilit Auditions 2013!

Every year a Goin Bulilit member graduates so it is inevitable that Abs-Cbn and the makers of the hit Sunday gag show will announce auditions for the next Goin Bulilit.

 So do you want your kids to become the next Goin Bulilit and become the next star like Goin Bulilit graduates Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo, Miles Ocampo and Kiray Celis?

Toni G. Hosts Abs-Cbn's The Voice

 After the hit talent show X-Factor Philippines which second season is still in the rumor box, we have a new singing talent show called The Voice of the Philippines - simply the Pinoy version of the hit singing competition in the US of the same title 'The Voice'.

Rumors have circulated that Sarah G. will be the host of this upcoming reality talent show but we have a new G. that's going to give voice to this show together with a line-up of Pinoy judges. In an official statement with Abs-Cbn, they have revealed that the host of The Voice is going to be none other than the Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga.

Toni Gonzaga is not only a movie star but a singer, vj and a host to many reality and variety shows like Pinoy Big Brother, Pinoy Dream Academy and Happy Yipee Yehey. She is also currently a host of the hit Sunday showbiz talk show The Buzz.

This brings Toni G. into taking the mic and take the stage to host The Voice Philippines!

Heart Evangelista and Geoff Eigenmann Reunites in Forever

Well it's not like we haven't seen them together when both transferred to the Kapuso network. But after their team up in Legacy, Heart Evangelista and Geoff Eigenmann will reunite in the upcoming drama series 'Forever'.

The drama series is said to be of high cost in terms of production because the story is set in the 50's. We have some Period drama series in the works for Heart and Geoff then!
