4 People Killed at Carnival Float Fire in Brazil

SAO PAULO, Brazil - 4 people were killed and 5 more were injured after a Carnival float caught fire on Tuesday,  12 February 2013. An authority said the float caught fire shortly after the Sangue Jovem Samba school ended its parade at dawn.



Associated Press also reports that three of the victims were pushing the festival float while the fourth was a spectator. The fire started when the float accidentally hit a power line according to a witness. This lead to the suspension of the event by the city's mayor Paulo Alexandre Barbosa.
